More and more cars are becoming musical instruments for creative people. Audi has created a television commercial for the Spanish market. This commercial is very similar to what I have seen here in the USA with Chevy and OK GO. -Think the 3 vid is the funniest-
I don’t think Audi is trying to replicate what OK GO has done with Chevy. I feel Audi is experimenting with the same concept in the foreign markets. However, the viral success attributed to OK GO is not translating to Audi. The Audi “In crescendo” video has less than 1 thousand views while, the OK GO has about 23 million.
The concept is simple use the product, “car” to make music or a melody. Notably, OK GO’s video is much longer, elaborate and upbeat concerning tonality.
Audi, on the other hand, sticks more to their personality: short, simple and clean. But I must add, classy to the list because the melody sounds like classical music.
I am left with the impression that the two videos are successful in reaching their two different target audiences. Audi I assume is for older, wealthier gentlemen, while Chevy is for the younger professionals who still don’t finish paying back those student loans.
Lastly, since the holidays are around I thought I would throw this in just for laughs. This was filmed in Japan by a car culture group.
